On November 25, Dangsheng Li, Editor-in-Chief of Cell Research and Cell Discovery and Researcher at the Shanghai Center for Excellence in Molecular Cell Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a lecture at the Oujiang Laboratory's “Bai Chuan Forum” Editor Li presented an insightful talk titled “Publishing at Cell Research and Cell Discovery” to the laboratory's researchers and graduate students. Professor Chanshu Huang served as the moderator for this event.

During the lecture, Editor-in-Chief Li outlined the development history, positioning, and significant academic influence of Cell Research and Cell Discovery. He elucidated the indispensable role these journals play in advancing life sciences research. Drawing on his unique insights and practical experience in academic publishing, detailed strategies for writing research papers that meet international standards, techniques for selecting appropriate academic journals for submission, and effective methods for navigating challenges during the peer review process.

During the interactive session, Editor-in-Chief Li engaged in lively discussions on topics of particular interest to faculty and students, including the international scope of journals and the internal peer review models of different publications.

Graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1988; earned his Ph.D. from Cornell University Medical College in 1995. Served as Associate Editor of Cell from 2004 to 2006. Appointed Executive Deputy Editor of Cell Research in 2006, becoming Editor-in-Chief in 2021. Founded Cell Discovery in 2015 as Executive Editor, assuming Editor-in-Chief in 2021. Published over 70 papers and reviews in academic journals including Nature, Cell, and Science, receiving multiple honors and awards.
