WYSS2023 | The 3rd International Summit on Brain Health and The Fourth Oujiang International Forum on Alzheimer's Disease Held in Wenzhou, Zhejiang

On the afternoon of November 11, the Third International Summit on Brain Health and Functional Rehabilitation and the Fourth Oujiang International Forum on Alzheimer's Disease, one of the main events of the 2023 World Young Scientists Summit (WYSS), grandly opened in Wenzhou

The forum focused on actively responding to population aging and implementing the "Healthy China" strategy, aiming to build a platform for top academic experts and young scientists in the field of brain health to exchange and collaborate . It sought to enhance understanding and social awareness of brain diseases, particularly Alzheimer's disease . The event gathered nearly 40 leading academics, including a Nobel Prize laureate and academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, who delivered relevant reports . A total of 30 academic presentations were brilliantly conducted, with nearly 100 research institutions, enterprises, and universities represented, bringing the total number of participants to approximately 400。

To promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in the field of brain health and support high-level young talents in innovation and entrepreneurship in Wenzhou, the forum also featured a project signing ceremony and an appointment ceremony for high-level young talents .

Oujiang Laboratory signed an agreement with the National Engineering Research Center for Cell Growth Factor Drugs and Protein Preparations. The two parties will jointly conduct scientific research and technological innovation, share resources and complementary advantages, promote the research, development, and application of cell growth factor drugs and protein preparations, contribute to improving the overall level of original biomedical research in China, and actively serve the economic society and the construction of Zhejiang Province's "Important Window" .

Additionally, Oujiang Laboratory signed strategic cooperation agreements with Hangzhou Jinyu Medical Inspection Laboratory Co., Ltd., Wuhan Metware Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Nanjing Aipu Regenerative Medicine Technology Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Zhenyan Investment Management Co., Ltd .

On behalf of Oujiang Laboratory, Song Weihong presented letters of appointment and work badges to seven high-level young talents, including Bao Min. These newly recruited high-level young talents have joined Oujiang Laboratory on a full-time basis as researchers. They will leverage their respective research expertise in the fields of regeneration and precision medicine for eye and brain diseases, providing intellectual support for the laboratory

During today's forum, three keynote reports and five invited reports were delivered. The speakers engaged in academic exchanges centered on the theme of "Research and Progress in the Pathogenesis, Pathological Mechanisms, and Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease." The discussions focused on topics such as the analysis and regulation of neural circuits in brain function, perioperative neuroscience, and the current status and prospects of cognitive digital therapies, showcasing new advances, dynamics, and achievements in related basic research and scientific research efforts. Keynote reports were presented by Professor Hartmut Michel, Nobel Prize Laureate, member of the German National Academy of Sciences, member of the British Royal Society, and Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Academician Duan Shumin of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; and Professor Xiong Lize, Director of the Institute of Brain Function and Artificial Intelligence Translation at Tongji University School of Medicine
