On March 12, the Joint Symposium on Brain Health, organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Oujiang Lab, was successfully held. The event focused on the theme of "Latest Research Findings and Applications in Brain Health," facilitating academic exchanges and promoting the translation and application of scientific achievements. Over 200 participants, including experts, scholars, clinicians, and students from Oujiang Lab, CUHK, and the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, attended the symposium.

Academician Song Weihong, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and Director of Oujiang Lab, attended the symposium and delivered an opening speech. He introduced Oujiang Lab’s development strategy and establishment process, while also reviewing the productive interactions between the lab and CUHK in recent years. He emphasized that this joint symposium marks a new starting point for strategic collaboration, enabling both sides to build consensus and shape the future. He expressed hope for continued cooperation in addressing key challenges in brain science, advancing basic and clinical research, and promoting the translation of scientific achievements.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Wang Yi, Deputy Director of Oujiang Lab.

The academic report session was moderated by Oujiang Lab researchers Wu Yili and Bao Min.

Twelve neuroscience experts from Oujiang Lab, CUHK, and the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University delivered insightful academic presentations covering mechanistic studies, clinical applications, novel precision medicine technologies, and community-based analyses. In-depth discussions were held on hot topics such as AI-assisted precision medicine and the impact of nutritional intake on brain aging.

Participants also visited Oujiang Lab’s exhibition hall, major medical science facilities, and experimental areas, expressing high praise for the lab’s rapid development and advanced research conditions.

The successful hosting of this symposium represents a concrete step in the strategic collaboration between Oujiang Lab and CUHK. It reflects their shared commitment to advancing human brain health and lays a solid foundation for addressing challenges in brain health research and deepening future cooperation in this field.
