Overview of Academic Research

Professor Geng Wujun and his research team focus on the following research areas:

(1) Post-stroke central pain (CPSP): investigating the neural circuits associated with CPSP-related negative emotions and identifying potential therapeutic targets;

(2) Ischemic stroke reperfusion injury: studying the regulation of pathological cascades and mechanisms of neurological recovery, with particular emphasis on the neuroprotective effects of electroacupuncture;

(3) Chronic pain disorders: exploring novel therapeutic strategies for conditions such as complex regional pain syndrome, phantom limb pain, and knee joint pain through physical therapy and fibroblast growth factor (FGF)-based interventions;

(4) Neurotechnology and translational research: developing AI-based dual-modal screening devices (integrating eye-tracking and speech analysis) for post-stroke depression, as well as designing pH-sensitive targeted drug delivery systems for ischemic stroke.
