Overview of Academic Research

Dr. Yaping Chen is a Principal Investigator (PI) and Professor at Oujiang Lab, and a doctoral supervisor. She was selected for the National Young Talents Program (2021) and the Zhejiang Provincial Young Talents Program (2023). In November 2023, Dr. Chen joined the Oujiang Laboratory and established the Nano-Immuno Research Group. Her research focuses on integrating novel nanotechnologies, molecular biology, and immunology to develop efficient and precise nano-injection techniques, and exploring their applications and mechanisms in gene editing and cell-based therapies. Her research integrates novel nanotechnology with molecular biology and immunology to develop efficient and precise nanoinjection techniques and investigate their applications and mechanisms in gene editing and cell therapies. To date, Prof. Chen has published over 30 SCI-indexed papers in internationally renowned journals including Advanced Materials, Nature Protocols, Materials Today, Nature Medicine, Nature Immunology, and JACS. She has led seven research projects, including the Australian Research Council CTET Early Career Project, the Australia–Germany Joint Research Project, and a Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences commercial incubation project. She also holds two international patent applications. Dr. Chen serves as an invited reviewer for several academic journals (e.g., Adv. Funct. Mater., Sci. Adv.).

Her research interests include:

1. Nanodelievery technologies and cell transfection

2. Cellular immunotherapies (e.g., CAR-T)

3. Biomechanics-induced immune cell differentiation and functional regulation

4. Novel immunotherapies and other open research areas
