Professor Lyu is the first China-US jointly trained Doctor of Optometry in China and a renowned scholar and leader in the field of ophthalmic optometry . She contributed to the establishment of the "Ophthalmic Optometry" program at Wenzhou Medical University, which integrates traditional ophthalmology with modern optometry. This initiative has been internationally acclaimed as the "Chinese Wenzhou Model" in ophthalmic optometry, highly regarded by research institutions in the United States and other developed countries, and has exerted a profound influence in both ophthalmic optometry education and medical practice . Her main research focuses include:
1. The pathophysiological mechanisms of visual function decline (due to aging, light damage, myopia, etc.) and related intervention strategies.
2. The development of medical devices and high-tech products for precision imaging of ocular structure and function.
