The Oujiang Laboratory Animal Center has deployed specialized animal facilities across different experimental campuses according to the construction schedule of the Oujiang Laboratory.

The SPF-grade laboratory animal facility in Qihang Building commenced operations in December 2023. Spanning approximately 800m², it provides housing space for around 4,000 cages of SPF mice and 400 cages of SPF rats. The facility offers standardized, quality-assured services including laboratory animal procurement, animal husbandry, veterinary inspections, biological decontamination, and animal experimentation technical support.

Phase II of the Translational Medicine Research Base Model Animal Center, with a planned construction area of approximately 10,000 m², will provide housing space for about 70 cages of monkeys, 35,000 cages of SPF-grade rats/mice, and 360 cages of germ-free animals. It will feature multiple functional zones including a functional experimentation area, ABSL-2 zones for large/small animals, a microbial testing platform, and a gene editing platform. Construction is expected to be completed and operational by the end of 2025.

Phase III of the Translational Medicine Research Base Model Animal Center, with a planned construction area of approximately 30,000 square meters, will establish a comprehensive experimental animal facility integrating SPF-grade rats/mice, gene-edited animals, germ-free animals, pigs, dogs, monkeys, and other experimental animals. It will implement standardized management systems and operational protocols.
